Tangram House South recently sold its most expensive luxury penthouse within the building, redefining the lifestyle of Flushing. The penthouse is a duplex that sold for $3,099,800 and boasts 3-bedrooms and 4-bathrooms. This is a record sale for Tangram House especially in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

JG Neukomm Architecture, famous for their work with Tiffany, Calvin Klein and hotelier Ian Schrager, designed the penthouse with indoor-outdoor space that fits into New Yorker’s new COVID lifestyle. The duplex has 2,417 sq.ft. of interior living space with a nearly 500 sq.ft. private terrace. The terrace is complete with a BBQ and fire pit, perfect for entertaining outdoors all year long.

The penthouse at The Pierre Hotel has finally sold for $44 million, $81 million under its original $125 million list price. At the time of the sale the unit was listed at $57 million and the closing price comes to around $3,666 SF. The 12,000 SF residence features 5 master bedrooms, 6 full bathrooms, 3 half-baths. The penthouse has 16 rooms in total including living room, The Pierre Hotel's original ballroom, 4 terraces, 5 working fireplaces, guest suites, staff quarters, grand staircase, private elevator and a chef's kitchen. The seller was Barbara Zweig, who decided to downsize after the death of her late husband, Martin Zweig, who originally purchased the penthouse for $21.5 million in 1999. The buyer is rumored to be Cantor Fitzgerald CEO Howard Lutnick after the unit closed under 795 Properties LLC. The Pierre Hotel is located at 2 E 61st Street and is a Taj Hotel. A new listing has hit the market at Ian Schrager's 160 Leroy Street in the West Village. The 7,750 SF penthouse is spread over 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms and is listed for $48.5 million, making it currently the most expensive listing in the West Village. Tommy Hilfiger to Keep Penthouse at Plaza Hotel, Pulls Listing for $58.9 Million

Tommy Hilfiger has decided to keep his duplex penthouse at The Plaza after a 10-year on and off again effort to sell the condo. It was just previously listed for $58.9 million before he cancelled the listing, also seeing listing for $50 million, $80 million, $75 million and $69 million between 2008 and 2017 produce no buyers at the desired asking price. The highly-styled unit is 5,600 SF and features 4 bedrooms, a gourmet kitchen, "New York Times" old-style office, "dome room" breakfast area, and prime views of Central Park. The penthouse was most previously listed with Douglas Elliman.
