The MetLife Building, located at 200 Park Avenue, will be getting a revamp of the lobby designed by MdeAs Architects. The building, which was purchased by Tishman Speyer and the Irvine Company in 2005, features a grand lobby connecting 45th Street to Grand Central Terminal and spans 50,000 SF spread over 2 floors. In the renovation MdeAs will use travertine-clad columns, terrazzo flooring, statuary bronze finishes, warmer wood finishes. The renovation will also reopen the direct connection to Grand Central Terminal which has been closed since 1980 in addition to expanded amenity areas, visitor reception and mezzanine lounge. An expected completion date has not yet been announced.
