611 West 56th Street, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning master architect Alvaro Siza, has revealed two never-before-seen renderings of the project’s exterior, offering a first look at the 35-story residential tower which is currently under construction. 611 West 56th Street is co-developed by Sumaida + Khurana and LENY, developers at the forefront of modern architecture and design-driven development. 611 West 56th Street presents a historic architectural moment for New York City, the first building in the United States designed by Pritzker Prize-winning Portuguese master architect Alvaro Siza. The new 35-story stone residential tower, which will offer just 80 residences, is currently under construction in one of New York’s most exciting enclaves of contemporary architecture. Siza, who at 85 is one of the world’s most revered architects, is known for his style that has been described as poetic modernism. 611 West 56th Street has been thoughtfully designed with an intricate simplicity illustrated in its monolithic shape and white limestone façade.
Residences range from one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts to expansive penthouses and duplex maisonettes featuring private terraces. The majority of the residences feature direct elevator entry. Interiors are being crafted by Gabellini Sheppard Associates, the award-winning interior design studio behind 152 Elizabeth, Rockefeller Center’s iconic Rainbow Room and Milan’s Armani Center.
Sales at 611 West 56th Street are slated to begin in Fall 2019 led by Compass Development’s Debra LaChance, Leonard Steinberg and Therese Evans.
