Amazon announced Thursday (September 21) that it has signed a 15-year lease at 5 Manhattan West for their Manhattan headquarters for Amazon Advertising. The lease covers 360,000 SF at Brookfield Property Partners’ 5 Manhattan West and will serve as part of Amazon's commitment to bring 2,000 new jobs to New York City over the next 3 years. 5 Manhattan West, which is now 99% leased, rises 16-stories and features 1.8 million SF of rentable space. In March (2017), Wholefoods, which Amazon acquired in August (2017), announced they had leased 60,000 SF in 5 Manhattan West. Other tenants include the NHL, JPMorgan Chase, law firm Skadden Arps and a residential tower, The Eugene. 5 Manhattan West is located at 10th Avenue between 31st and 33rd streets and is part of an 8 acre, 6 building mixed-use development by Brookfield Property Partners which will cover 6 million SF of retail, office space, hotel and residential.
