Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich's Upper East Side megamansion redesign, which PROFILEnyc reported at the end of October would be up for review by the Landmarks Preservation Commission, has been approved. The new proposal, which was designed by a world-class group of architects including Stephen Wang + Associates and Herzog & de Meuron, was praised by Landmark Preservation Commission chairman Meenakshi Srinivasan. Abramovich plans to combine 3 townhomes located 9, 11, and 13 East 75th Street into a 18,000 SF megamansion complete with a 2nd floor courtyard, double-height art room, indoor pool, rooftop kitchen and a greenhouse. He acquired the assemblage over time for $94 million after having plans previously approved for the initial project to be at 11, 13 and 15 East 75th Street.
