Delancey Street Associates has unveiled a new addition to the Essex Crossing community named One Essex Crossing in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Essex Crossing is a new condominium development that will be made up of nine sites across six acres once complete. One Essex Crossing will offer direct access to Essex Market and The Market Line retail and entertainment, and will be designed by CetraRuddy. Delancey Street Associates is comprised of BFC Partners, L+M Development Partners, Taconic Partners, the Prusik Group, and the Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group.
“We were inspired by the rich architectural language of the existing fabric of the historic Lower East Side and the next chapter of its artistic, cultural and forward-thinking community,” said Nancy Ruddy, Founding Principal of CetraRuddy. “The three-dimensional layering of brick, terracotta and glass weaves texture into the facade, harmonizing with the neighborhood while paying homage to the past and the present.”
One Essex Crossing is 14-stories tall and spans a full block. The condo features 83 residences that offer views of the Manhattan skyline and is built around a 9,000 sq.ft. amenity garden. Indoor-outdoor amenities include a landscaped garden terrace, fitness studio, yoga room, The Sun Room and a residents’ lounge with spaces for working and entertaining. 30% of residences will feature private outdoor space. One Essex Crossing will also include a residents’ bridge that directly links to the historic Essex Market and the new Market Line retail. The Market Line is a one-stop-shop expansive marketplace and grocer that brings together a mix of locally-sourced vendors and restaurants that are immerse in the Lower East Side urban culture.
“One Essex Crossing’s connection to The Market Line, visible through the glass, soundproof bridge in the residential entry, is one of the most exciting aspects of the building,” explained Colleen Wenke, Chief Development Officer for Taconic Partners, who is leading the development of One Essex Crossing. “The dynamic and functional experience that the building affords residents has truly elevated the concept of vertical living in New York City.”
One Essex Crossing is located in the Lower East Side and spans between Broome Street and Delancey Street. Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group is handling sales with pricing ranging from $890,000 for a studio to $6,689,000 for a duplex penthouse with occupancy slated for later in the year.
