555 West End Avenue has been revealed on the Upper West Side, the circa-1908 Catholic School reborn as a collection of 13 spectacular condominium residences has released a first look at interior renderings. Located in the Riverside-West End Historic District and originally built as a school, 555 West End Avenue has incredibly unique, storied interiors, such as a gymnasium and a library, that make for truly spectacular, one-of-a-kind living spaces. The building was built in 1908 and designed by acclaimed architect William A. Boring. For their first Upper West Side project, Tamarkin Co. is celebrating the building’s remarkable history by carefully restoring its original details, like the roof’s signature turrets, and creating astonishing residences with massive ceilings and classic layouts that you can't find in new construction today.
Nearly all of the 13 residences feature unique floor plans where residences range from three- to five-bedrooms and feature spacious, family-friendly layouts that reflect the historic UWS location, such as entry foyers, walk-in pantries, and eat-in-kitchens with handcrafted cabinetry. Amenities include a 24-hour doorman, fitness center, recreation room, stroller valet, private individual storage rooms, and additional cold storage and bike storage.
Tamarkin Co. is developing 555 West End Avenue in partnership with CL Investment Group. The developer received approval for the conversion from the Landmarks Preservation Commission in 2015 and was also granted approval to add a one-story penthouse addition at the first public hearing. Sales are slated to launch in Fall 2018 with the unveiling of an onsite model residence. Pricing will start at $7.9 million. Sotheby’s International Realty and Stribling & Associates are handling the sales and marketing of the project.
