SJP Properties & Mitsui Fudosan America have launched a new teaser site and revealed new renderings of the Elkus Manfredi-designed 200 Amsterdam Avenue. The art deco-inspired tower, located at 200 Amsterdam Avenue, will rise 55-stories, 668'. 200 Amsterdam Avenue will bring 113 condominiums and 283,000 SF of total development to the Upper West Side featuring interiors by CetraRuddy. Sales and marketing are being exclusively overseen by Brown Harris Stevens Development Marketing.
The teaser site can be found at: www.200amsterdam.com
Construction at the site is well underway after excavation started in October 2017. The tower's facade will feature a glazed aluminum curtainwall with profiled metal panels and composite masonry. The base of the tower will feature a 2-story limestone facade with black granite and stainless steel accents and windows will be framed with backlit grills. 200 Amsterdam Avenue will breathe new life into an area that has been plagued by anti-development activist Gale Brewer, whose work has left the neighborhood in decline, lagging behind other parts of Manhattan. In May 2017, construction on 200 Amsterdam Avenue came to a stop after a neighborhood group challenged the use of zoning. After the Department of Buildings reviewed the complaint, they green-lit SJP Properties to continue construction on 200 Amsterdam Avenue in September 2017. Completion for the tower is expected for 2020.
