HFZ Capital Group has rolled out a new take on model units at The Bryant, British architect Sir David Chipperfield's first residential building in New York City and the very first new condominium directly on Bryant Park. The terrazzo clad residence was furnished by Radnor, a furniture company founded by Susan Clark, who transformed the two-bedroom residence into “Material Interiors,” a two-month exhibition that launches three collections of exclusive Radnor Made textiles and furniture designed in collaboration with Bunn Studio and Adam Rogers.
“Material Interiors” is about creating a venue to celebrate the creative community while carving a niche in the retail landscape. Clark plans to launch Radnor collections through seasonal installations.
Radnor appointed Workstead, a multidisciplinary studio led by Robert Highsmith, Ryan Mahoney, and Nadine Lynch, to co-curate the exhibition, a fully functional apartment. The new collections sit atop original herringbone oak floors and honed terrazzo borders, along with works by some of the industry’s brightest budding talents: Julianne Ahn, Marie Eklund, Oyyo, Workstead, Loïc Bard, Egg Collective, Pat Kim, Pelle, and Farrah Sit, all designers Radnor represents.
Located at 16 West 40th Street, The Bryant is Developed by HFZ Capital Group. The residential portion is situated high above a new boutique hotel in the 37-story terrazzo tower, with private residences starting on the 16th floor. Every residence is a corner unit of the tower and offer expansive panoramic skyline or park views. A hallmark of Chipperfield’s design is to make the complex appear deceptively simple. In the case of The Bryant, the building’s custom made aggregate terrazzo façade transitions seamlessly into the carefully considered interiors. Residences feature the finest finishes, each with bespoke millwork and honed, hand-selected Italian marble outfitting the kitchens and baths. Cleverly concealing storage, appliances, and mechanical systems, and allow continuous, full ceiling heights to carry throughout every living space, kitchen and hallway. Each residence features multiple floor-to-ceiling windows, as well as a border for the warm-toned herringbone floors with the incredibly rare feature of having radiant heating throughout. The Bryant recently listed unit 26B, a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom, 1,882 SF residence on the 26th floor with north, south and east exposures of the Empire State Building, Bryant Park and Lower Manhattan for $5.67 million. Amenities at The Bryant include a 6th floor club living room lounge designed by Stonehill & Taylor featuring 15' ceilings, fireplace, conference and dining rooms, and a full bar for entertaining; a landscaped terrace overlooking Bryant Park, and a 24-hour attended private residential lobby designed by David Chipperfield Architects with terrazzo floor and leather paneled walls.
