The Rollins has officially opened in Essex Crossing after launching leasing with immediate occupancy in the Lower East Side’s $1 billion urban renewal mega-project. Located at 145 Clifton Street, The Rollins offers 107 market-rate rental apartments and 104 affordable apartments, although pricing for the market rate units will be some of the highest ever seen on the Lower East Side. The residences come in 1, 2 and 3-bedroom floor-plans. Essex Crossing is one of the most significant urban renewals projects in the history of New York City on the Lower East Side. The mega-project officially opened its first residential building, 175 Delancey Street in early 2018.
The city housing lottery last spring received more than 90,000 applications for the affordable apartments that start at $519/month. The market rate units start at $3,150/month for a studio, $4,175/month for one-bedrooms, $5,800/month for two-bedrooms, and $7,900/month for three-bedrooms. Amenities include a roof deck, fitness center, residents' lounge, and an "elevated garden terrace." The building was designed by Beyer Blinder Belle with interiors by K&Co.
