Extell has released new tentative renderings of their new luxury supertall Central Park Tower as construction is nearing the half-way mark. The supertall tower, located at 217 West 57th Street, is the first of its kind with a $4.02 billion sell-out and estimated funding to complete the project in excess of $1.2 billion. Central Park Tower is being designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, the same team which designed the Burj Khalifa, and will rise 1,550'. The tower will feature 179 luxury condo units and a 7-story Nordstrom flagship location as the feature tenant for the ground floor retail in the tower's base. Central Park Tower is being developed by Gary Barnett's Extell, who brought in SMI USA, the US subsidiary of Shanghai Municipal Investment, as co-developers on the project. Sales are expected to launch in 2018 and tower's completion is estimated for 2019, upon which it will become Manhattan's tallest residential tower.
