DNA Development is upping the retail game in Midtown as they have broken ground and are completing foundation work for their new "Jewel Box," a modern-luxe retail project adjacent to Rockefeller Center and Fifth Avenue. The stand alone retail project is designed by Ennead Architects and provides a flagship retail opportunity located directly between Rockefeller Center and 5th Avenue on West 48th Street. The retail project offers over 30,000 SF of useable space optimized for a flagship store or a premium headquarters in one of the world's premier shopping and tourist destinations. With visibility from both of these iconic New York streets, the structure was designed with a state-of-the-art angled all-glass, modern facade and over 75' of highly customizable frontage along 48th Street. The contemporary building will have four interior levels and a private rooftop terrace. The ground floor boasts a ceiling height of 19' and floor space of 7,286 SF, while the below grade space will have 15' high ceilings and 7,525 SF. The second floor is comprised of 5,707 SF with 15', 8" ceilings. The third and fourth floors will have 15', 8" ceilings and 5,750 SF and 4,714 SF, respectively. DNA Development is a privately held, vertically integrated real estate investment and development company focused on ground-up development, value-add repositioning opportunities and adaptive re-use conversions. Groundwork on the "Jewel Box" project is currently underway and marketing and leasing is being coordinated by Kenji Ota and Neil Seth at Cushman & Wakefield. Completion is slated for spring of 2018.
