The project will be completed in 2 phases withe the first phase consisting of 9 buildings, which together will feature 464 rental apartments. Stamford Urby features architecture, interiors and landscaping by Concrete, the award-winning Dutch design firm responsible for citizenM Hotels around the world.
“Stamford and this location in particular have everything we look for when scouting new Urby locations,” said David Barry, President of Ironstate. “Stamford has a vibrant and diversified economy that attracts young professionals similar to other Urby developments in New York and New Jersey. Urby’s proximity to the waterfront, walkability and access to mass transit will introduce a new lifestyle that hasn’t been seen in the Stamford residential market.”
“We are excited that the Urby concept is coming to Stamford as it has been a key addition to other vibrant communities like ours,” said Stamford Mayor, David Martin. “This is an important project for Stamford and the planning for development on this site began several decades ago. My administration has worked hard to move this project along and we are happy that we are finally filling the infamous ‘hole in the ground.’”
